"... a fantastic resource"
‘It really is a fantastic resource for students learning about conditions in the war and in the trenches – especially for somewhere like Australia where these events are somewhat removed from us.’
"It is amazing!"
‘First, I would like to say that it is amazing! I really liked how realistic it was. I felt like I was actually there. I really enjoyed my experience on it.’
"I can not really put into words just how wonderful it was to see their reactions."
‘My learners absolutely loved it and I can honestly say it is the first time I have had all of their attention in a group gathering.
They all either wanted a turn to touch the screen or were transfixed watching what was happening. They got very excited at being ‘teleport-ed’ into the picture and wanted to go even further (through the window in the painting). Also individuals were trying so hard to read out what was written on the display.
I can not really put into words just how wonderful it was to see their reactions.’
"It felt like I was in the trenches..."
‘It felt like I was in the trenches and not in my classroom where I was. I had no idea what it was like before but now I do I must have been so scary there.’
"I now feel more sympathetic."
‘After the experience, I now feel more sympathetic for the soldiers who had to survive in the trenches for days on end.’
"It was one of the best experiences I have ever had."
‘It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I was really excited to try it because I have never used [a Google Cardboard headset] before.’
VR Education for EYFS
Have you thought about using VR & AR in your nursery? Early research suggests that edtech and VR experiences can actually boost development and give children the opportunity to develop skills in more immersive ways.
We understand that parents are concerned about the impacts of VR headsets for young children, so we’ve developed a system to work without VR headsets. Just like Google Streetview, you can explore the past, present and future using a tablet, PC or phone (with or without a cardboard headset!)
Not only does this give you the flexibility to choose the best method for your little ones, it also cuts the costs right down.
Integrating Seymour & Lerhn into the classroom is super easy. We know nursery practitioners don’t have time to learn how to use new tech, so we’ve designed a platform to make accessing the virtual content as easy as pie. Just log in and make your way to the subject hubs where you will find a library of educational content ready and waiting for you!
For larger groups or collaborative experience, navigate the tours via an interactive whiteboard. Engage the entire class and bring out group discussions based on a shared experience.
For medium size groups, explore the tours on individual PCs or laptops. Ideal for easy supervision or the opening point for a larger project.
For small to medium groups, navigate round with tablets or iPads. Use either touchscreen or the in-built gyroscope to explore.
Make good use of pupils phones or use school owned devices for a more personal experience. Already have a Google Cardboard or mobile VR headset? Switch the tours to VR mode for an easy VR experience.
Access the tours through a Smart TV Web Browser. Good for medium to large groups or for collaborative experiences.
Buy just one subscription for the whole nursery. Multiple classes can log in at the same time and view different content, delivering a flexible teaching resource for the entire nursery to explore.
Use in conjunction with the virtual tours or as a separate activity – the included activity worksheets are designed with little people in mind, providing short but stimulating activities for children in the early years foundation stage.
No Hardware Required
No need to invest in costly VR headsets which will inevitably end up living in a dusty cupboard. Simply log in on a PC, tablet, interactive whiteboard, laptop, smart TV, smartphone…you get the idea!
